Holyhead, on Anglesey in North Wales, is the UK’s main port for Dublin, served by Irish Ferries and Stena Line. The railway station is built into the ferry terminal, making it the classic rail-and-sail route between London, the North West and Dublin.

Before You Travel
- From 28 September 2026, Stena Line and Irish Ferries require every passenger (any age or nationality) on sailings between Ireland and Wales to show a valid passport or Irish passport card at check-in, because of UK Border Force rules. Other photo ID is not accepted.
- Routes between Great Britain and Northern Ireland are not affected by this change.

Foot-passenger parking is available near the station and terminal. Spaces can be limited at peak times.
We have not confirmed public EV charging inside the port. Chargers are available on Anglesey and along the A55.
