All year or high season only?
In the far south of the Andaman coast only one route runs all year: Pak Bara on the mainland to Koh Lipe, about 1 hour 30 minutes with Bundhaya (11:30 and 13:30, plus 09:30 in high season). Everything else is seasonal. Bundhaya lists its island-hopping boats from Koh Lanta to Koh Ngai, Koh Mook and Koh Kradan, the runs from Koh Ngai and Koh Mook on to Koh Lipe, and the long runs to Lipe from Phuket, Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta only in seasonal windows that open on 15 October or 1 November and close in May.
Island hopping south from Koh Lanta
From Saladan Pier on Koh Lanta, Bundhaya’s high-season boats reach Koh Jum and Koh Ngai in about 30 minutes, Koh Mook in 50 minutes to an hour and Koh Kradan in about 1 hour 10 minutes, with two departures a day. From Koh Ngai (11:00 and 13:00) and Koh Mook (11:20 and 13:20) boats continue to Koh Lipe in 2 to 2½ hours. Koh Lanta to Koh Lipe direct takes 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours (Bundhaya at 10:30 and 12:30; Tigerline also ran direct boats in late October 2026).
Mainland boats to Koh Libong, Koh Lanta Noi and Koh Phayam
Some islands are reached by short public boats rather than the island-hopping speedboats. From Hat Yao pier in Trang, boats to Koh Libong run daily from 07:00 to 17:30, leave once 10 or more passengers have gathered and take about 20 minutes (50 THB). The car ferry from Ban Hua Hin to Koh Lanta Noi runs continuously from 05:00 to midnight, each boat leaving when it is full of cars (about 20 minutes). Further north in Ranong, boats to Koh Phayam leave from the Saphan Pla pier at 09:30 and 14:00 (slow boat, about 2 hours) and 10:00 and 14:30 (speedboat, about 40 minutes), according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Koh Lipe to Langkawi (Malaysia)
Bundhaya’s ferry from Pattaya Beach on Koh Lipe to Kuah Jetty on Langkawi takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. It is seasonal: Bundhaya lists Lipe → Langkawi for 15 October to 16 May, with one sailing a day in late October 2026 (14:15) and two in high season (10:45 and 15:30 on 10 December 2026). Langkawi is one hour ahead of Thailand, so the printed arrival time is 2½ hours after departure.
