Which pier for which island?
Koh Chang is reached by car ferry from Ao Thammachat in Laem Ngop to Ao Sapparot on the island’s north-east coast, a short crossing that carries cars and foot passengers. Koh Kood and Koh Mak are further out: Boonsiri’s catamarans sail to both from Laem Sok on the mainland, and link them with each other and with Bang Bao at the southern end of Koh Chang.
Koh Chang car ferry
The Tourism Authority of Thailand gives the crossing as about 30–45 minutes, with boats about every hour from Ao Thammachat from 06:30 to 18:30. Ferry Koh Chang posts low-tide notices, weather stops and queue reports on its official Facebook page. At low tide only some boats run and they may not take a full load of cars (for example on mid-August 2026 mornings between 06:00 and 11:00). At holiday times queues build: on 29–30 July 2026, with 4 boats in service, the operator reported about 1 hour to board at Ao Thammachat and 1.5–2.5 hours at Ao Sapparot.
